La Casa De Amistad Masterplan 2020 by w/Purpose, LLC
La Casa de Amistad is a longstanding institution and charitable organization that functions as a dynamic community center in South Bend Indiana.
La Casa de Amistad was founded in October 1973 as a youth outreach program in response to the many growing needs confronting Latino teenagers. Founded by Fr. John Phalen, C.S.C., La Casa de Amistad offered impactful programs to assist Latino youth in self acceptance and knowledge of the their culture of which they are a part.
In 2018, La Casa identified a former charter school as its new home and invited w/Purpose to lead its design and masterplan. The role would ensure an impactful and visible interior that connected with its donors, patrons, and community.
w/Purpose worked collaboratively with La Casa leadership to imagine a unique micro library, guiding masterplan, and welcoming cultural experience that connected with the community.
In 2021, La Casa opened its doors to the public with tremendous support from the community and City of South Bend.
